Sea of Stars Gameplay Clip Features Music by Yasunori Mitsuda – TechRaptor
Indie developer Sabotage Studio released a new clip of its upcoming retro-style, JRPG-inspired RPG Sea of Stars.
While we get to see a bit of gameplay, what makes this video special is that it comes with music by acclaimed composer Yasunori Mitsuda, who is providing work on part of the game’s soundtrack.
Mitsuda-sensei is very popular among JRPG fans for having worked on many legendary soundtracks, including the Xenoblade Chronicles series, Xenogears, Xenosaga, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and many more.
You can take a look at the video below, featuring the Coral Cascades.
Sea of Stars is releasing this year for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s a prequel set in the universe of Sabotage’s Studio acclaimed game The Messenger and it has been funded with a successful Kickstarter campaign that reached its goal in a single day.
It features retro-style turn-based battles that aim to renew the formula with timed attacks and defense, tactical use of damage types, and more. Of course, it also comes with absolutely beautiful pixel art visuals spruced up with dynamic lighting.
The story includes dozen of characters and story arcs, promising a “captivating journey,” but if you want a break, you can still enjoy side activities like fishing and minigames, including the in-game tabletop game “Wheels” that you can play at taverns.
